This is a unique opportunity to view and learn about a larger-scale reforestation project near Adventure Bay. The project aims to establish approximately 55 hectares of Eucalyptus ovata and E. globulus forest on former agricultural land to provide foraging habitat for the endangered swift parrot. The project is also assessing a range of seed provenances to test which ones might be most suited to a changing climate. The project is managed by Sustainable Timber Tasmania as a registered Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme project with the Commonwealth Government. A small convoy of 4WD's will travel to the site to hear from experts about the planning and future of the project. NRM South will arrange a small convoy of 4WD's to travel to the site where experts from STT will talk about the planning and future of the project. Please indicate if you have a vehicle or would like to reserve a seat.
